I was thinking - terrorist are going the wrong way about it. They shouldn't use explosives, too messy, doesn't convey enough fear, wastes human lives foolishly, etc... Instead, aerosol dispersed pyschedelic halluciongens (LSD and the likes) should be used. When a person doesn't know (s)he is under influence of drugs, but starts having weird experiences, it gets scared real fast. And fear under effect of hallucinogenic substances breeds interesting behavior (from perspective behavior study). Soon, you don't start fearing you die, but that you aren't murdered by your loved ones.

Three days before giftmas, I've caused a fender bender at riddiculous speed (20 km per h). I've barely shifted into second gear after lights changed to green, drove solid 5 meters after the first car. We turned left, he suddenly stopped to let someone with right of way, I stepped on the breaks, and watched in horror how the 5m melted away until I've rammed 1.5 tonnes of up the exhaust pipe of car half the size and mass. The horror - he didn't even get a scratch on his rear end, while the grill and fender on my car were massacred. Damn small cars.

Luckily, it was company car - full insurance, not gonna cost me a dime.

I've made 1400 kilometer driving around in the last 4 days. I've been furthest south you can get in our country. Went to Dubrovnik - supposedly a beautiful city... but it rained. After that I went to Metkovic, but spent about an hour there. To Split from there, a horrid mass of insanity inducing traffic things (not worth calling streets and raods). After that a quick sidetrip to Sibenik, and from there to Zadar.

When staying in Zadar, I suggest Funimation hotel in Borik. 4 stars, not really expensive, and is a wellness club, so you have access to spa, pool (in&out, depending on time of year), fitness, and so on...


Also, I've bought Neverwinter Nights 2. I didn't want to, but it was stronger than me. At least I managed not to buy the limited edition (Lawful Good, it is called) which included original NWN + exp. packs, some stuff not worth mentioning and a LG ring... I'm still fighting urges not to go and buy it.

Some stuff happened since the last time I've posted.

1) other day (monday, I think) I saw a guy dead on the curb, after being hit by a car.
2) I'm getting myself a new cell phone. This one has served me well, but his retirment is nigh.
3) I've had the most lovely dream tonight. Can't tell you more about it because it is kinda too personal. Almost included a kiss, no need to know more.

I was intercepted on wednesday by a police interceptor for driving 116km/h in a 70km/h zone. 2 punitive points and 800 kuna ticket (about 100 euro, 130 us$). Damn cops...

On the upside, legal department at work is nice enough and is looking for a way that I wouldn't have to pay the fine.

On the 30th of this month, at 9 o'clock in the morning, my future will be decided. I have the final interview for the new job.

And I firmly decided to get certified for MCSA and CompTIA A+, and, in time, for MCSE and CompTIA Network+ and Security+.

Assured mutual destruction. But maybe you can lose the least?

I just got a call from headhunting / HR agency that called me a month ago and it seems I've got into the final round.

First round: interview with the HR agency that headhunted me.
Second round: IQ, personality, and bussines english tests.
Third round: interview with the company's HR manager, member of the board, and IT expert from company that IT is outsourced to.

And today I get the call.

Final round: a guy from Great Britain will come over, and chose the One. Number of candidates: 2.

I'm going to throw up from excitement now.

Yesterday's date went rather well, if I say so. The girl looked even hotter in person than she did in the picture. And she is really cute and sweet and smart. I just have to see if it will go anywhere.

Today's job interview turned out to be surreal. I was informed that it isn't a job that I thought it would be - system administration and technical support - but, rather, that was just a part of the job. The job is basicaly Chief Information Officer with some manual work. I might be way over my head in deep stuff with this one, but damn it, I will try to get that job! Live the dream!

I have a date today :)
Met her on the local wireless network, on one of several hubs for distribution and dissemination or pirate material. She is 26, working on her graduation thesis from monetary mathematics, and from pictures she looks really hot. And even if it turns out she isn't hot, she is still smarter than me. I should start shaking soon :)

Yesterday I got a call from a human resources managment company (sounds so inhuman, doesn't it?) related to me being a suitable candidate for a job. I was asked to send in my CV and let them know if I was interested. Now, I have to wait for interview. I'm so excited that I can barely contain it and prevent shaking. Yeah. I'm going to continue my attempts not to fall asleep at work :)

I'm not exactly what city officials are thinking about, but they probably have no concept of gridlock... For the last month and a half there was a lot of road work in the city - roads fixed, pipes being set down, parking zones set up, and so on... trouble is that the major traffic routes have been in question, and they've been simultaneously closed, with no prior warning. It didn't affect me much, since most of the work was on the other side of town, but... There is always a but, isn't it? Well, this morning I was rudely surprised when I had to take a 3 mile detour for a quarter mile of usual route. And yesterday evening (approx. 10pm) there was no hint that the road would be closed.

This kind of music is called "turbo folk" and is considered to be the pinnacle of neo-primitivism in my country. Imagine "Paris Hilton wannabe" girls (only not rich) and "russian mafia wannabe" guys going to the same club, and listening to something like this. They're there to find a guy to support them, and they're there to get drunk and fuck the best looking of the lot. Shooting is not uncommon, police intervenes more often than not, and there is always local mafia involved in the ownership of the establishment. Biggest female name in turbo folk is wife of dead war criminal and local mafia leader.
